  1. Hi all, I know everyone and their dog seems to be after close-ratio gearboxes for their Micras but am I the only one who finds the 1.2 a bit under-geared? 5th gear seems to give about 20mph/1000rpm (indicated speed, so true figure would be lower). I'd kind of like 5th to be a cruising gear, say more like 25mph/1000rpm. Happy enough to change down to 4th for the odd incline if this is what it takes. I certainly don't think that pushing 4000rpm at motorway speeds can be good for fuel economy. I'm not about to fix what isn't strictly broken but, come the time when the clutch needs changing, are there ant compatible gearboxes with slightly higher 5th gear and/or final drive ratios? Ideally a combination of both so that I can significantly raise 5th gear without rendering the lower gears unusable... Ideas gratefully received, Thanks, __ Dave
  2. FOR SALE 52 Reg Micra K11 1.4SE in light metallic green. MoT till Oct, needs some work hence £500 £350 (Sheffield) End-of-season Sale! Now Reduced to just £350! Generally tidy car finished in light metallic green, engine still good but starting to show signs of gearbox and clutch wear and some corrosion to rear subframe which requires welding. Hence we are regretfully giving up the ghost as we lack the skills to tackle these problems ourselves. However if you are equal to these tasks the rest of the car will reward your efforts. It's the SE trim package which includes sunroof, power steering and electric windows (all working) and AC (needs recharge). The interior is clean and tidy apart from the odd little nick and smudge which you'd hardly notice, and we don't smoke or own pets either so you won't need to spend the first 3 months with the windows wound down! The engine has 120k miles on it and has given us no problems since we bought it at 66k. It's the long-stroke 1.4 which provides a good mix of torque and power - definitely the one to go for if you do a lot of motorway miles or live in a hilly area. All in all, a good and versatile little car for the K11 enthusiast who doesn't mind rolling their sleeves up! Interested? Contact me on here or on 07534 048 591...
  3. ...had my K11 a few years but only just stumbled on this forum. I guess that tells you something about either its reliability or my computer literacy! Anyway, hope I can be of some use to the forum and vice-versa! __ Dave
