  1. Many thanks Trevor. We did have to go down the specialist forced regen as it just wouldn't shift. All good now though. I hope my daily trip to work of 35 miles will now keep it clear? Thanks again.
  2. Hi guys and girls. Good to be here. Just before Xmas I wrote off my beloved Qashqai on black ice which was a 1.6 petrol on a 60 plate. Eager to replace it because I love the QQ I purchased a 63 plate 1.5 dci Acenta. That was a week ago. Yesterday I got a steady RED engine warning light on, called RAC this morning who promptly came out with his box of tricks and diagnosed the Diesel Particulate Filter was causing the problem. He cleared the light and advised that I take it for a "drive like you've stolen it" run which I did. However about 3 miles down the road the Red light is back on and it did not clear despite my "aggressive" driving. So next I purchased so DPF cleaning solution, followed the instructions and added to the fuel. Still nothing (although I have only done about 10 miles since). I have been in contact with the dealer who said something about "regeneration"????ttin Additional to this, I know diesels are significantly noisier than petrol engines which I what I am used to, but the knocking (especially when cold and accelerating) seems incredibly loud. Is this just a feature of the type of engine, and is there anything I can do to reduce this ie. Injector cleaner etc. etc. I am sure these topics have been previously raised and apologise for bouncing the subjects, but having just spent a considerable amount of money on this car, I want to know that I am not sitting in a "Dud" Thanks for reading and your time Dave
