  1. I have looked on the Nissan website and the correct engine oil for my Nissan Note appears to be 5W30 A5/B5. However, I have checked several online sellers where you enter your reg. no. and they give you a selection of oils for your make and model. These show a variety of oils of different viscosity as well as the 5W30 - including 5W40 and 15W40. Can anyone explain if these oils really are ok for my engine. I have a couple of bottles of oil left over from previous vehicles I have owned and these are (you've guessed it) 5W40 and 15W40. Could either of these be used to top up the oil between services if necessary or should oils never be mixed and would they be the wrong oils to use anyway?
  2. I had the same problem and contacted Nissan UK Customer Service and they emailed me a pdf of the relevant service schedule after verifying my identity and proof of ownership: Customer Services Nissan Motor (GB) Limited Opening Hours Mon-Fri: 08:00 to 20:00, Sat: 08:00 to 14:00 Telephone: 0330 123 1231 However, I also found incredibly detailed service info on the Haynes Autofix website - again by putting in the car make, model and reg number. They have every single detail of each service task for someone wanting to do a diy service.
  3. I have just bought a 2014 Note Tekna DIGS CVT. I was totally unprepared for all the buttons, switches and beeps. I thought the vehicle came with rear parking sensors. I didn't check and didn't know what to look for. Having reversed into a parked car and pretty much detached the rear bumper, I now know I haven't got rear parking sensors! I am 70 and obviously losing my grip... My question is that when I get the vehicle repaired (covered by insurance with a £350 excess) could I ask for a bumper with parking sensors if such a thing exists, or are they always retro-fitted? I have seen the thread on retro-fitting on this forum so I realise this is an option. Just wondering!
