  1. Thanks Trevor! Yea, that’s my plan. Drive harder and faster 😀 Always use good oil and filter I premium fuel. Have a good weekend
  2. I can't dismiss piston slap but if it is momentary whilst the engine is cold on start up but then it warms up and the piston expands then its not too much of a worry, can potentially last for years without issue. I would change the engine oil to the best you can get for your money and start to put a few more revs on it - also use Premium fuel this does make a difference
  3. Hi @mikeh 1975 ...welcome to the Club Usually CanBus wires can be identified as they are 'twisted pair' which is essentially CanHigh and CanLow - they are twisting to restrict interference (if one wire has interference and spikes, the other will mimic it so the system is not confused between the disparity.
  4. Hi @Neilster99 It is predominantly a UK site but but the Qashqai is sold in the UK so chances are there are very differences between UK and Canadian versions. Welcome to the Club
  5. Thank you so much for the guidance on repairing the plastic bush - I will have a go at rebuilding our Juke gearshift based on your instructions and see how I get on with it. I know what you mean about the worn gearknob as ours it the same so seems likely it is more shifting because of the engine revs/torque which seems to be high revs almost begging for a sixth gear.
  6. Hello, I just bought a used 2023 NISSAN QASHQAI and I am having some issues, I also wanted to know if this is just a UK forum? I am in Canada .....Neilster99
  7. Loose gearstick In order to take a photo of the loose gearstick bottom with its nylon bush would involve removing everything again which is a bit of a fag This nylon bush is a weak point as I sent away for another from a breakers, being careful of the mileage the car had done, unfortunately when buying parts on line breakers do not usually give the mileage of the scrapped car , this arrived as a complete gearstick assembly, this was inexpensive, the bush on this one was better than mine although still worn, but intact, as my nylon bush was actually split from top to bottom, I did not need all the rest except for the bush. I therefore used this bush which pushes into a socket, I figured the way to compress this bush was a circular shim that surrounded the bush, I made this from thin aluminium sheet which I had, the gearstick bottom ball then pushed into the recess together with its nylon bush and surrounding aluminium shim, this was a tight fit, and made the gearstick more positive. I think this is a design fault, although my car is high mileage, and the gear knob was worn on the top suggesting much use of the gears
