Hello :smile:

I am having trouble diagnosing a fault with my front offside indicator.

When I indicate it uses the side light instead of the indicator light. It is not the bulb as that has been changed. It has been like this for a while now and has caused an MOT failure.

 

The garage mechanic doesn't know what could be the problem and has suggested I get an electrician to look at it. I am having a hard time finding an electrician with a good knowledge of cars.

Does anyone have an idea of what the fault could be?

Hi....welcome to the Forum

Sounds like it could be an earth issue or the wrong indicator bulb fitted which is causing it to backfeed into the sidelight

You could prove this by swapping the indicator bulb over to the other side and if the fault appears over there then you have the wrong bulb fitted
