Thinking about buying a Micra (new shape). Is the 1 litre engine powerful or very sluggish. Due to Covid I can’t test drive.

Hi Heather....welcome to the forum

The 1.0 litre engine is sufficient for most purposes all though it won't break any speed records I think you'll find it perfectly adequate for most journeys

The 1 litre is a good little engine and copes well, I have the 1ltr 99bhp 5 speed and it’s fairly impressive. They do a 117 BHP which is in my wife’s juke with a auto box and that drives really nice
