Considering buying a Navara 2018 4x4

Hi,

I live in Australia and am considering buying a Navara as an upgrade on our VW Golf for bigger space and the ability to do some gentle 4WD. We will not be doing any crazy 4WD, just a little to get us to places we cant currently access in our Golf.

I have had a quick test drive of a 2018 Navara ST-X 4x4 and I like the tech and smooth drive, it is definitely better than other "utes" as they call them here, BUT, and its quite a big but a lot of people in Australia seem to really hate them so I was wondering what actual current owners opinions are?
Would you buy the D23 Navara again if you could go back in time?
Has anyone had to have any major repair work done and if so after how many kms?

I also watched this and it seems like a fairly balanced review and it recommends the Navara for how I would use it
