Alarm Issue

I have the problem of the car alarm going off at random times.  The car does not respond to the key controls and one must open the door to stop the alarm.  Some times I have to press the start button and leave the car ajar to stop the alarm going off when I close the door.  Dealer is no help as problem is sporadic.  Any ideas?
