    Nissan Primera Indicator fault

    Hello I am having trouble diagnosing a fault with my front offside indicator. When I indicate it uses the side light instead of the indicator light. It is not the bulb as that has been changed. It has been like this for a while now and has caused an MOT failure. The garage mechanic doesn't know what could be the problem and has suggested I get an electrician to look at it. I am having a hard time finding an electrician with a good knowledge of cars. Does anyone have an idea of what the fault could be? Thanks
