[Air bag, no light?]

Hi, have just got youngest a 97 Micra vibe, when the ignition is turned on there is no air bag light, I have taken dash out to look but its not a normal bulb it's 2 LEDs on a circit borad, how do I check if they are working and would the replacement be a dealer only part??
