Micro won't start after new battery fitted

Hi I'm a new member.

After a flat battery last week I had a new one fitted yesterday and although all the ignition warning lights came on and I could set rest the radio the car won't start.

It has keyless ignition system and the " key" sign was lit but won't even start with the key.

The car had to be transported by breakdown service .

Any ideas? Does the ECU have to be reset after disconnecting battery? It's as though it no longer recognises key. Key remote is working fine to unlock car , even from a distance.
