  1. Hmm, seems like someone had the issue before and a bodge was carried to rectify the issue (or at least attempt to rectify it). There is an issue with the timing chains and as far as I can see it was a recall from Nissan. It does suggest that it occurs on hard acceleration (e.g. from a slip-road) and if the chain is slack it can drift away from the timing point by a small fraction (much like a loose timing belt) which can then throw a code for cam/crank timing and result in what you are experiencing. I would personally replace the engine oil and look to see what has come out - e.g. metal particles and then replace it with the specified oil which may have not been supplied with previously. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/engine-oil-12094/nissan/pulsar/pulsar-hatchback-c13/107484-1-2-dig-t If you use a quality oil of the correct specifications (as listed in the link above) and see if that makes any difference to how it runs. If no real difference is noted then I would advise to get the timing chain replaced which will almost certainly make a difference if it is worn

    I use a smart screen with Android Auto. Then connect my phone via BlueTooth and use Waze map. Less expensive and live updates of accidents, traffic jams etc.

Hello, I am joining this forum with hopes to be able to supply you guys with some hard to come by parts for your beloved Nissans, as the title states we are the second oldest Nissan dealer in the uk and we are looking to move some of our older parts that have been stored away for years.   5. Hi all! Im thinking of getting a Pathfinder in the next month or two. Wanted something bigger for going fishing/camping and always loved the look of the Pathfinder.   6. Its such a scam and see it all the time - easy money for the garages. It is possible to fit replacement rubbers if all they are is perished. As long as they are not perforated and leaking grease or if there is any play in the joints then it is perfectly serviceable. Advise on the MOT sheet but not necessary to replace otherwise. Recently fitted a replacement lower arm on wife's Juke and then replaced it a year later as the first (cheaper one) knocked the joint out in no time - more expensive one, quite a bit heavier duty for the N/S location and almost twice the weight. An easy job to carry out yourself and definitely not £1200 worth of repairs. Kept the old rubbers to use if necessary in the future. :-)
  7. I'm sure you will keep finding bodges throughout the car and maybe worthwhile assuming everything needs checking and just work your way through it. If you are lucky you may find the issue which is causing the problems and may not cost you much if anything at all to resolve Let us know how you get on with it

  9. Nissan are looking into my new car that was not giving the advertised range of 759 miles on delivery as they said it should (only giving 660 a 100 mile discrepancy. Car delivered with full fuel tank and only delivery mileage of 10 miles). second tank fill still only 660 range. Awaiting their investigation!

    So, here's the saga. Offside Drum collapsed inside, my fault- long story. Anyway, new drums, studs, bearings, shoes, spring kit purchased, but could I find an ABS ring for the pixo anywhere? Nope! Eventually, Vertu Nissan offered me 2 rings for £201!!! Bought 2 used drums, cleaned/painted and fitted. ABS light turned off 👍 Moral of the story: Parts like this are becoming very difficult to get. Also, does anyone have any ABS rings? I have 2 brand new drums, with new bearings pressed in and ready to. They'll need the fings fitted, obviously. You can have them both for £50 plus whatever the p&p will be Tony

  12. My thoughts exactly. I’m thinking that the 05-12 Pathfinder LE’s, when in 2WD, do not have the front transfer case engaged at all. There’s no hub lock or unlock on these. Unless selecting 4WD is what you’re referring to by manually locking the hubs. AWD is a confusing on this vehicle. I don’t think that the hubs are technically locked, but they’re obviously engaged, and the drive is put to the front by “The System” when it senses “Slip” I guess. And if your front tires are mismatched, it might sense slip continuously. I guess that I could put the truck up on the lift, start it and engage “Drive”(2WD), and just see what’s spinning. I would assume that the forward drive shaft always spins, but that the transfer case is not engaged. Another way would probably be to put on the new front tire on the front paired with the used front tire and go drive. If it’s a problem, the “VDC” and “Slip” lights would probably come on.
  13. My brother once owned a 1984 Nissan Pulsar, silver colored and I believe it had an automatic transmission. I'm now retired and wondering where could I find a very nice, low mile, garaged, nice example of a first generation Pulsar NX ? I'm sure I will learn the meaning of patience as it could take years to find a truly nice condition low mile Pulsar of that era. I do keep an eye out generally on internet but hoping there are specific places, such as car clubs? events where these kinds of cars gather? My guess is they are not considered collectable and probably most have rusted away in wrecking yards by now.

    Possibly but the more I have driven it the more annoying all the bings and bongs have become. It maybe just that it is a rental but the radio is frankly crap. Can't find stations or when it does won't follow them on long journeys as frequencies change. This is true on the FM and DAB. The SatNav isn't interactive unlike my Kia so no notice of traffic, roadworks or road closures. The speed monitoring is pretty up and down with it registering the wrong speed limit about 50% of the time resulting in more bings and bongs it it thinks the limit is lower than it really is. These are irritations because I like the higher driving position and the vision. The seats are comfy and plenty of room for a car of it's size. Getting up to about 1200 miles now. My car is still in dock. When I get it back I shall be looking for a replacement. The Juke will be on the list to look at but I would need an HeV.
  17. Hi....welcome to the Club I'm not entirely sure if there is a 'bolt on' to add an extra gear or how you could go about adapting anything to fit. However, you may be able to play with the gear ratios in the final drive or even the rolling diameter of the wheels/tyres to affect the mph to revs range

  19. Hi All , I have just replaced both window winder motors in my 350Z track . On looking up all the available threads to do it , I noticed all the hassles owners have to overcome to get the window up for the repair . I was desperate , when mine jammed in the down position before I was ready to fix it , and still needed to use it . I started the motor , pulled the window switch up and banged the inside of the door panel roughly alongside where the motor is located . It jarred up the worn brushes for one last effort , and the window wound up much to my relief . I fastened two soft jaw Stanley clamps on the window to keep it from falling down again , while replacing the motor . One bit of advice I have noted on previous forums going forward , to avoid having to do the job again in the future . Is never to let the window go all the way to the bottom if you can help it , when using the window . It is a big heavy window , and needs a lot of leverage to move it resting at its lowest point . This is what prematurely wears the brushes out . That and try not to raise and lower the window with the motor off , this too stresses the brushes as the voltage is not as strong . Wish you luck , you can save a lot of money doing it yourself .

  21. Thanks for the welcome message. As to the models, I have always found them a better value proposition than the other Japanese makes, and that goes double for European cars. I have had other makes (briefly). Rover SD1 V8, Humber Imperial, Holden Commodores (my wife has had a series of wagons, up to her current 14 model SV6 wagon), and even an Aston Martin DB6 Vantage (for a couple of years). Hi - just bought my first Nissan ... a 2008 1.6 ltr Micra K12 cc Sport convertible in silver. 3 previous owners and 116k on the clock... it was a cat n insurance write off due to light damage to boot lid and rear bumper! It runs excellently, even the intelligent key works (well most of the time - lol!) ... and the roof works perfectly, so looking forward to the summer months! A few pics the 'Micra Machine' attached.   25. Hi again, i have found the culprit! before replacing the fuel filter i gave the hoses another check over, turns out the boost pressure hose has a big split in it around 2 inch in length! I have a new one on order. For now, i taped around the hose to “bodge” it and straight away the difference in pulling power was night and day!.. a big puff of black smoke and off she went! A fresh MOT and the family wagon is back on the road. 👏
  26. Hi, Sadly the vehicle is not on warranty. The engine had gotten a fully rebuild and clearly this code is from a sensor picking up trapped air in the coolant system as it was full and bleed out but after a day or 2 of driving i noticed the coolant bottle was at min and would you believe the fault code light went out.. Happy out till the next fault...😆

  28. Nissan note 2008 1.6 Petrol Having listened to my drive belt squealing like a strangled cat thought it best I changed it, car has done 140,000 on what I think was the original belt. First as it’s a 1.6 petrol it only has one belt, cheapest place was Halfords at £17. Next watched videos on how to change it, easy I thought, so set to work. Jacked up and on axle stand removed drivers side wheel then attacked the inner wing lining, lots of popper fittings and screws, lot of poppers broke on removal, made sure I had spares. Now I can see the drive belt, well cracked and shiny, slacked tensioner pulley bolt (13 mm) and removed the belt, easy. Checked out belt against new, all ok but could I get the new belt on, no way. Tried the tensioner pulley adjuster, this was a nightmare to get at as you cannot see it all touchy feelly, anyway the adjuster was rusted and not for moving, only option left was to remove the pulley. Cleaned it up and freed up adjuster, next challenge was to re fit the adjuster, which you have to do blind and you can only use one hand, after a lot of cursing I still couldn’t get the thing into position. Looked how to gain better access, remove the front grill and then get another pair of hands to hold the adjuster in place while I re fitted the pulley, easy. Put the new drive belt on and now with relatively easy access to the adjuster tensioned the belt. No more squealing, job took in total about three hours around two hours longer than needed. So before I do my wife’s car going to ensure the tensioner bolt is lubricated, was the main cause of the delay. Will also just remove the front grill and see if it can be changed without having to remove inner wheel arch liner. Hope my experience saves people time and effort.

Hi thanks for your reply I really thought I'd cracked it I realised that the interior light wasn't coming on when the rear passenger door was open nor did it show up as open on the dashboard so I unscrewed the switch and found the wire was broken down at the bottom near the seat anywayni joined the wire back up the interior light works as it should now and it also shows up as open on the dashboard but the lights are still flashing

  32. Hi all. Merry Christmas. Got my new Qashqai 1.5 Tekna e-power on 17/12/22. loving my new car.
  33. We bought a nearly new Tekna 1.3 after a previous diesel Qashqai. . It was £27,000 NEW in 2018 We had problems with the child lock engaging when driving and unable to disengage. This was erratic and they replaced one under the warranty but as they couldn't witness the other one, they refused to repair. Eventually, we had to take a video when it (inevitably) occurred again and they agreed to fix it. We have recently had gear change problems when we try and change gear in the lower gears. We tried Nissan but they can't see us for two weeks so as it's out of warranty, we took it to our local garage who believe it is the slave cylinder and will immediately repair. It also takes a lot of revs to release the autobrake leading to dangerous situations driving off. But it only has 35,000 miles on it and we've NEVER had an issue with any other car like this so early on. As the original poster said, we haven't suddenly changed how we use the gears. And our VW which we have from new in 2017 still has lovely smooth gear changes. It seems Nissan are going the way of Peugeot and instead of producing good cars are now producing bad ones. This will be our last Nissan. 😟

  36. Hi any advice tips for this model just purchased August 2022 Scotland. I am always willing to give a go simple small Car owner maintenance weekly jobs but due disability strictly no DIY or heavy lifting Spinal problems. Positively driving this Car first time ever today it fitted like a glove never had any Car like that and after nearly a year of not having a car great! I could sing notes hah!

  40. I would recommend getting something like a silicon hose which would be stronger and cheap to buy by the length Try Demon Tweeks as they have a good range of hoses

  45. These issues sound a lot like software problems of the actually audio unit. Nissan do run software updates but you have to visit a dealer and request it. The update usually fixes issues such as Bluetooth connectivity issues, calibration and restarting issues. If problems persist however then you’re looking at audio unit replacement which I think are fixed in France.
  46. I get this exact issue with my 2016 Juke, I connect to it through bluetooth and use spotify and it will just randomly pause for 10 seconds every now and again. I made sure to turn off traffic announcements, which helped a bit, but it still happens sometimes. Let me know if the re-calibration helps, i'll have to get it done myself!

  49. Hello, Just found this page. I have a 1985 1800 SGL. I have owned the vehicle from new. I have every service record MOT etc. The car was in practical classic about 5 years ago. Never been rebuilt or sprayed all original. Runs like a dream. Cheers Paul.
