Trevor started following Engine jerking problem and Egr replacement
-
there are some posts on google search relating to the PO409 code I would first start by running some cleaning solution through the fuel and give the engine a very long high revs run to burn off any excess carbon that has collected in the EGR or Intake Manifold
-
mostly timing chains are reliable if the correct servicing and maintenance is carried out when its specified and using quality oils and filters Please let us know how it goes !
-
possibly air mass meter is causing the jerking - try removing, cleaning and replacing Another possible cause could be the throttle pedal sensor needs replacing? Have you turned off the air conditioning as this will run a fan on start up
-
thanks for updating us and please let us know how it proceeds
-
The Qashqais have only got the fuel flap protecting access to the fuel inlet. Is it possible to fit a locking fuel cap inside the body flap? If so anyone know of where to get one. please.
-
Nissan are looking into my new car that was not giving the advertised range of 759 miles on delivery as they said it should (only giving 660 a 100 mile discrepancy. Car delivered with full fuel tank and only delivery mileage of 10 miles). second tank fill still only 660 range. Awaiting their investigation!

Hi all, Got a 2014 d40, eml came on for egr so has been replaced. However eml came on again after clearing faults with PO409? What could be the fault? Wiring or something more sinister

Ok. I did buy some oil recently im just waiting on the filter and sump bolt to arrive from euro car parts. Ill try not to drive it as much until it arrives. thanks Also are these known issues with these cars? I dont really know much about them because I wasn't so interested in them at first.

Manufacturers were all found guilty of doctoring the figures by any means necessary - so they really are just guidelines. Your driving style, routes, terrain will all play a part in the overall fuel consumption....even air conditioning and having a roof box will play a part in the outcome
-
I would check the coolant pressure cap as my first point of call - replace if necessary as its quite cheap and take 30 seconds to do (only release the cap when the engine has cooled down)
-
I would advise changing the engine oil and filter as soon as possible. Having looked up your cars registration on Eurocarparts, it is listed as having a timing chain Try to locate a quality oil filter and get the best oil you can for the money - Castrol, etc

20250925_103247.mp4 Hello! I have recently bought a k12 micra for my first car. There are a few issues with it obviously being a 16 year old car but one sticks out more than the others. When I specifically start the car from cold there is a rattling noise coming from the drivers side of the engine. I was going to carry out an oil service myself because I dont know when it was last done and the oil doesn't look great. I mean that its mostly black but there is still a bit of a goldy brown colour. I understand cars make noises but its just been really playing on my mind because i could not afford to do a timing chain or a new engine if something were to go wrong. The reg number is Bv58 dkd if you need engine sizes/ codes etc Thanks! Johnny (I would have sent a longer video however there is a lomit of roughly 6mb)

Just bought the new 2025 e-power Qashqai with an advertised range of 759 miles. It was given a full tank of petrol by the dealership with delivery mileage of 10 miles and the range was only 660. (The salesperson said he was surprised when he filled up and noticed the range was only 660). It was explained that the car was to learn the drivers habits and range would be noted accordingly. Surely it should have given, as new - undriven, the advertised range of 759 and then yes as it adjusted to driving habits the range would alter. I changed from a 2024 e-power Qashqai and with our driving habits managed to achieve, or thereabouts, this models range of 550 miles which it was started with. Both of the models being the N-Connecta.

So, a little update on ours! We've managed to get a warranty replacement agreed via Ancaster and Nissan UK. We had to prove service history and it's going to take 6-8 weeks because there's a part out of stock (they've already had it 6 weeks). It took some arguing but definitely worth pursuing, especially if you've maintained your vehicle.- 7 replies

Thanks. No instruction hadn't changed anything. Just did reset when it stopped working.
-
Have any of the settings changed (e.g. bluetooth to your phone, etc)? I would try pressing a few buttons to find mute, volume, etc If it powers up then it won't be a fuse thats blown
-
Sounds like you have sorted it then - well done! You have done all the checks in the correct way and come to the right conclusion Only other thing maybe to recode the throttle body which was a thing on the slightly older Micra but may still apply A good scan tool should have this function on it
-
You could try using different protocol settings on the scanners (if available) to read the codes

You may be able to get the spheres re-gassed.....you could do on the Citroen and Hydrolastic spheres many years ago - look up Sphere repairs or regas -
Hi Stuart....welcome to the club I would say just have the vehicle checked over at a garage and if it is in need of a service to then have this carried out before venturing abroad. Also check your tyres for wear or damage and make sure all your lights are in working order. You may need to get vehicle passes such as Vignettes but otherwise, convert your headlamps so that the beam is deflected to the other side (can get a kit from Halfords for that). Good luck and enjoy your trip
-
Sorry that no one responded to your post. One of the reasons on the old Micra 4 cylinder engine for poor idle was carbon build up in the throttle body. When it is cleaned out and refitted, you would then have to perform a reset on it through a diagnostic scan tool which should sort it
-
When I had this i thought it was a phone or car setting. Can't really remember but I did get it to stop by altering which ever setting it was.
