  2. I have unfortunately tried all these methods and have put so much force trying to pull the shifter off but i have no clue, i appreciate the reply anyways

  4. Not entirely sure but I have only ever encountered a few methods of retaining the gear knob. Grub screw (usually small and hidden underneath the knob, screwed thread (twist off), detent clip (needs pulling up with force) - beyond that I'm not sure. I would start with trying to locate the grub screw, if not then gently try twisting anticlockwise, then if no joy then try knocking it upwards (I tend to hold onto the gear knob and with your other hand wallop your gripping hand to force it up. Beware to keep you face out of the way :-)
  5. I think you have the correct diagnostic procedure for ascertaining the fault(s) but maybe take a step back and diagnose each code, warning lamp and issue individually. Reason being there could be one overriding fault that is causing it or there could be a couple of faults present.
  6. If you would like to wrapped them with gaffer tape to give more support to the hoses and then evaluate if there is an improvement in the performance then you can decide it the hoses need replacement
  7. Yes its quite normal for the hoses to expand when pressurised from the turbo boost however, if they feel very soft and squidgy when you squeeze them they are probably in need of replacement as the rubber would be perished with age
  8. Hi Jeannie Does the sunroof sit and seal properly, no leaks? Open it right up and cleack for dirt, leaves, clean it out. Clean the rubber seals with a bit of wd40 or silicon just to make sure it sits properly. Also check the paintork to make sure the sunroof os not fowling the paintwork. May be touching as the car is flexing when moving. So, check there is no loose cabled, or anything dropped around the back, get a torch and take a look.

  11. Hello fellow nissan owners, ive got quite a niche car i think but thats not my issue, i have a 1st generation 2005 bluebird sylphy and im wondering how the hell i can remove the shift knob (4 speed auto) there is no clip holding it and if anyone could help i would be honored. The reason i want to do that is because i have to hold down the shift lock releasd button in order to shift out of Park into other gears. thank you

  14. Good day, all. I'm very happy you're all here, and hopefully we can be supportive and help one another. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and insights! :)
  15. I’ve got a 2020 Nissan Kicks SV and am one of those owners plagued with what seem to be electrical issues (bought it brand new and have been having intermittent issues since I bought it, dealership claims there’s no issue they can identify) . In brief: I will, seemingly at random (i.e. sometimes when I’m driving, sometimes when I first start the car), get all kinds of sensor issues lighting up my dashboard. Sometimes I lose the ability to give gas to the engine (depressing the pedal with no result), sometimes not. When I lose the ability to give gas to the engine, and I restart the car (usually after 10 seconds), I can use my BlueDrive and scan for codes and will get all the error codes for the various sensors that failed. If I do not lose the ability to give gas to the engine, though, the errors don’t show on a code scan. In July 2025 I replaced the battery, in October 2025 I replaced the alternator, and in January I replaced the battery current sensor and I still have issues. Any thoughts? Anyone?

  17. Well, I revved the engine but apart from the usual turbo whistle I did'nt hear any othet noise. I did, however, notice that the pipe from the intercooler expanded and contracted every time I revved up and released respectively, indicating some kind of boost operation. I also noticed some dried oil residues around a union joint on the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler.

  26. They get to a stage when they are worn out and worth replacing with an aftermarket system. Take a look in Halfords to see what aftermarket audio systems they have which should fit your existing radio slot
  27. If it is 'clacking' as you turn to a sharp left or right turn then it does suggest that the joint is worn. What else makes you think you have a problem with the joint?
  28. I would suggest to pop into Halfords and look at their range of aftermarket audio systems. I recently bought a new Sony double din that has reverse cameras, satnav, and loads more functions than I would probable never use. They also adapter kits so you can wire in your steering wheel controls as well as fascia plates to make it fit the dash

  31. What is a decent price to pay for a new after market sat nav CD radio car player, and do they have the reversing setup on them, but will I lose the stiring wheel function on using on 2011 model qashqai

  33. Hi guys i have a provlem with my CV joint
  34. Thx mate. I'll keep that in mind.
  35. If it is screaming high pitch noise then it is more than likely got a small leak somewhere but in general you will hear a nice constant low whistling tone while the turbo spools up
  36. Thanks for that Trevor. Needless to say, appart from the classic high pitch turbo sound, I hav'nt really paid much attention to anything else. I'll listen tomorrow and get back to you.
  37. Sounds like turbo boost isn't there - are there any strange sounds like whistling or a deeper sound (sounds like a burp) as this can signify that either the turbo or intercooler is leaking and creates a whistling sound and if its deeper then one of the rubber turbo hoses is split. I would demonstrate both sounds but luckily I can't record sound on here 😁
  38. I would be very tempted to take it back to the dealership and ask them to explain it to you - not only is it from the Nissan dealership so they should be well informed of any procedures and also the liability if there is any issues with the system. Please let us know how you get on with it
  39. Hi Just bought a new Qashqai 1.3, and swapping out from a Volvo Xc40 In the Volvo I had capability to press two buttons on the steering wheel. This made the car recognise speed signs and keep the speed as per speed restrictions. Would not allow me to exceed the limit. Nice a simple. No concerns on unintentional speeding.. I was informed by Nissan sales my new car has this capability. So far struggling to figure how to do this assuming it can be done...Took a look on Google and found something's linked to TSR ICC and ProPilot. But unsure. So anyone in this forum, any idea what I am talking about and is it feasible.. appreciate any guidance.
