  1. I thought the same thing. As i often going on the Toyota Owners cllub site that is always busy this site seemed almost dead. but have been advised that the site is new,so will take time to get up to speed. Which is fair enough.
  2. Hi and welcome the NOC. Like you ive only just joined the club. As the club is new replys to post are a bit slowl Peter.
  3. Ive had a bit more time to checkout this disc and its very good. It confirms the query i had about the initial handbrake number of clicks needed as indeed being.12. The disc appears to be a copy of the official Nissan workshop manual. Which makes it one hell of a bargain at a couple of quid.
  4. I should thought of that. Thanks Steve.
  5. Only joined the Nisssan owners club recently. I have a toyota Auris myself and am a member of the Toyota owners. the reason i joined the Nissan club is cos my daughter has a Micra and i look after it for her.So any tips and advice would be handy. But compared to the Toyota site the Nissan one is very quiet. where the Nissan site has very few daily postings, the Toyota has loads. this in no way of finding fault with the site but just a observation. I suppose some wag is going to suggest that Nissan are free from fault and there is nothing to discuss. Nissan are a very populer car so it seems strange. The format of both sites avery similar..
  6. RE ABOVE. the disc arrived this morning and although have ot been through it all its seems to cover everything about the car. If anyone else is interested to get a manual on a disc for a Nissan Micra K12 then just enter the item number 230888607895 in the seach section on Ebay.then check the other items has for sale.. Its a snitch for under £2 deliverd.
  7. Thanks for the reply Steve. Anyway i did as the garage suggested and wound back the cable adjuster to 12 clicks then readjusted the auto adjusters on the brake shoes to the shoes so they just cleared the drums. After several pulls on the handbrake and lots of stamps on the brake pedal the handbrake settled at 8 clicks. The spongy pedal when engine is running and the servo is operating has been cured. Daughter has been using the car for over a week now and the handbrake is about 6 clicks and braking is fine. Tried to find a Haynes or any other Manual for the K12 but they dont seem to exist. but found a cd being offered on ebay covering the K12 and as its under £2.00 including post ive ordered one,at that price even if its rubbish ive not lost much. will post if its any good.
  8. My daughter was told by her garage that her rear brake shoes needed repacing. i brought a set of mintex shoes and proceeded to fit them. this was fairly straight foreward. I adjusted the adjusters so the drums just spun freely. hand brake now comes up about 4/5 clicks to get a good hold. without starting the engine with no servo assistance there is good high brake pedal. but once the engine is started and the servo kicks in the brake pedal goes almost half way down.. i was a bit confused at this so i phoned my local independent garage for advice and they checked on there workshop computer and it says what i should have done is wind back the cable adjuster fully then adjust the shoes with the adjuster till they are just clearing the drums (as i did before) then adjust the cable adjuster so the brakes are full on at 12 clicks. to me 12 clicks seems a lot,but the garage insist this is the correct procedure according to nissan. But 12 clicks seems a long way for handbrake to come up. any advice on this issue i would be grateful
