Unfortunately not under warranty by 6 months. I noticed the noise while it was still under warranty but foolishly did nothing about it as I seldom drive the car. Seems like it will be an expensive job?

My wife has a Nissan Pixo1.0 which has done 15000miles. When the clutch is engaged in first gear at higher than normal speed e.g. on a hill start there is quite a loud squealing noise presumably from the clutch. Any suggestions as to what the cause might be? Is it a worn clutch after such a short period as my wife is a careful driver!
