  1. there are some posts on google search relating to the PO409 code I would first start by running some cleaning solution through the fuel and give the engine a very long high revs run to burn off any excess carbon that has collected in the EGR or Intake Manifold
  2. mostly timing chains are reliable if the correct servicing and maintenance is carried out when its specified and using quality oils and filters Please let us know how it goes !
  3. possibly air mass meter is causing the jerking - try removing, cleaning and replacing Another possible cause could be the throttle pedal sensor needs replacing? Have you turned off the air conditioning as this will run a fan on start up
  4. thanks for updating us and please let us know how it proceeds
  5. Manufacturers were all found guilty of doctoring the figures by any means necessary - so they really are just guidelines. Your driving style, routes, terrain will all play a part in the overall fuel consumption....even air conditioning and having a roof box will play a part in the outcome
  6. I would check the coolant pressure cap as my first point of call - replace if necessary as its quite cheap and take 30 seconds to do (only release the cap when the engine has cooled down)
  7. I would advise changing the engine oil and filter as soon as possible. Having looked up your cars registration on Eurocarparts, it is listed as having a timing chain Try to locate a quality oil filter and get the best oil you can for the money - Castrol, etc
  8. Have any of the settings changed (e.g. bluetooth to your phone, etc)? I would try pressing a few buttons to find mute, volume, etc If it powers up then it won't be a fuse thats blown
  9. Sounds like you have sorted it then - well done! You have done all the checks in the correct way and come to the right conclusion Only other thing maybe to recode the throttle body which was a thing on the slightly older Micra but may still apply A good scan tool should have this function on it
  10. You could try using different protocol settings on the scanners (if available) to read the codes
  11. You may be able to get the spheres re-gassed.....you could do on the Citroen and Hydrolastic spheres many years ago - look up Sphere repairs or regas
  12. Hi Stuart....welcome to the club I would say just have the vehicle checked over at a garage and if it is in need of a service to then have this carried out before venturing abroad. Also check your tyres for wear or damage and make sure all your lights are in working order. You may need to get vehicle passes such as Vignettes but otherwise, convert your headlamps so that the beam is deflected to the other side (can get a kit from Halfords for that). Good luck and enjoy your trip
  13. Sorry that no one responded to your post. One of the reasons on the old Micra 4 cylinder engine for poor idle was carbon build up in the throttle body. When it is cleaned out and refitted, you would then have to perform a reset on it through a diagnostic scan tool which should sort it
  14. You could try IceBox Autos who make units to specifically fit your car
  15. I would suspect it is the brake pads moving backwards and forwards - usually happens if the pads fitting kit is missing and allows the pads to move in the carrier. If it was the driveshaft joint then it would be constantly be clicking on acceleration and deceleration
  16. Did you resolve the issue? I was thinking it may be the Dual Mass Flywheel (if manual transmission) starting to break up Usually noticeable when switching the engine on/off when it will start to rattle
  17. a quick search with Google Lens reveals some results Just right click over the image above and select search with Google Lens and it brings up results of products that roughly match the clips you're looking for
  18. Hi, welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard!
  19. its amazing how powerful the media can be in resolving such issues with manufacturers - keep trying as you may get a good outcome
  20. you could try running it through Google Lens which may identify the model
  21. i would say its a case for the ombudsmen and certainly run it past citizens advice to get some more guidance on pursuing a claim If unsuccesful then a secondhand engine (with the revised cooling system parts) may be the most financially advisable way forwards
  22. Parking sensor?
  23. I guess you could swap the inner joint for the original one that will fit the gearbox, as a last resort?
  24. I would definitely advise to return the car to the garage who fitted the clutch for them to diagnose the issue - could be an adjustment required or a faulty part, etc?
  25. Hi - welcome to the Club Fine looking Juke, not so sure I would manage to keep that paintwork clean all the time 🙂 Good to have you onboard!
