  1. Sounds like a vacuum leak from one of the hoses on the inlet manifold Check all hoses for perishing and leaks which you may also be able to hear as a hissing sound
  2. Split turbo boost pipe (usually a wooshing or whistling sound associated with this) or variable vanes sticking with carbon and need cleaning
  3. Hi....welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard!
  4. Well done, that is superb and obviously driven correctly to last that long
  5. How are you getting on with the Serena ?
  6. Crikey that's an unusual fault. I wonder why the pump went out of timing - either something is worn (timing chain) or it was incorrectly timed in the past and was on the threshold and then dropped off the edge Thank you for sharing the rectification of this fault....you never know, someone else may benefit from it in the future.
  7. Look on EuroCarParts website where you can put your registration number in and look up flywheel and see what it is described as Welcome to put screenshot of your findings on here and we can look to see if it is DMF
  8. I have used https://direct4x4.co.uk/ for accessories before and great company otherwise you could look at eBay to see whats on there
  9. It could be a battery voltage issue when the full current is being used by starting the engine and possibly interrupting the mirror opening procedure?
  10. Try https://www.wingmirrorman.co.uk/ they may have a replacement glass listed
  11. Try this procedure, I have successfully used this for an X-Trail key before Insert the key into the ignition, but don't start the car, then remove the key. Do this about six times, although it can take up to 10 times. When your car accepts the Key, the hazard lights will flash twice. Now you're in program mode.
  12. Thanks for letting us know, always good to know the outcome
  13. If one of the earth straps was corroded then check any other ones that are there....it is quite common for this sort of fault to occur due to poor earths Also check the battery terminals are tight and corrosion free Let us know what you find
  14. I would check the battery terminals and leads, particularly the earth leads from the battery to engine, engine to chassis and see if the connections are sound
  15. Here is the recommended oil specs from Castrol's oil selector website https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/car-engine-oil-and-fluids/motor-oil-and-fluids-finder.html?page=recommendedProducts&id=fad0159f87e193587b0679b34fa9f56c
  16. Scrapyards are the best bet for a replacement axle due to the age of the car. There should be plenty around so wouldn't be difficult to find one
  17. It may be worth completely filling the tank for a while so that it dilutes the mix Otherwise it may just need a good run up the motorway for an extended period in a lower gear to keep the revs up for it to regenerate
  18. Have you got a serial number written down for it anywhere (service book, etc) as you can find the code from the serial number Otherwise it is a fairly straightforward job to remove the radio by removing any fascia trims and revealing the securing screws
  19. Sounds familiar but not all the engines suffer from it so not sure why this particular one The 1.6 petrol is a very strong engine and pretty much trouble free
  20. Samco are a company that specialise in Silicon hoses so they can provide different diameters and lengths and you can also get couplings and adapters to make up your own hoses
  21. There should be a voltage stabiliser within the fuel gauge electrical system which will control the gauge but this may have gone faulty
  22. Through the bulkhead using an existing rubber grommet which you can access and feed through the wire(s)
  23. Sounds like loose connections but where is another question all together
  24. Was there any possibility that the battery terminals were reversed or the positive lead connected last?
