What do they do? (2006 Bluebird Sylphy 2.0)

I am a new member of the forum and a new owner of a 2006 Bluebird Sylphy 2.0 litre. sedan.

No Owners handbook (in either Japanese or English) came with the vehicle, which has meant that, aside from the 'basics' I don't know what the 'gadgets' do.

As a result I have some questions, for which I hope the forum can provide answers.

If you'll bear with me, they are as follows:

1. The word 'sport' appears on the speedometer dial, and apparently signifies some 'additional capability' in respect of extra speed.

Exactly what DOES it signify and how can I access the 'power' that it implies?

2.  What are the 'bumps' that appear on the tops of the headlight covers?  They appear to be some sort of cover, are streamlined and within each unit there are two forward-facing openings, apparently for light bulbs.

However, despite 'experimenting' I cannot seem to turn them on and there is no apparent 'interconnection' between the 'main' lights and these units.

What exactly are they, what do they do, and how do I turn them on?  The 'column' light switches don't seem to activate them, so have they perhaps been disabled?

3. What does the letter 'L' on the Automatic shift signify?  Is it a variation on the L1, L2 markings on the Primera or does it have some other significance?

4. Side Mirror adjustment:   On the extreme right-hand end of the adjustment panel for the side mirrors, there is a knurled switch with numbers 1-3 on it.  Alongside this is an image of what appears to be a 'headlight' with 'beams' emanating from it.

What does that switch do?

My apologies for so many questions so-early in my membership, my excuse being that I want to make as best use of the vehicle and in the absence of an owners handbook this site is the only one which seems to be likely to be able to help.

I look forward to any assistance which may be given.  Thanks in advance
