Register an imported vehicle from Japan into the UK

Having serious difficulties in registering an imported Elgrand due to the loss of original paperwork. Nissan Japan are not very obliging and DVLA will not register the vehicle unless I obtain evidence from a owners club regarding the age of the vehicle. I have a copy of the original vehicle export certificate but this appears not to be adequate.

any further advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

You may be able to get proof of age from another Nissan owners club as unfortunately we do not keep registration details for vehicles (domestic or import).
