Sluggish Qashqai

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone. Happy to announce that I've just joined and would any ideas as to why my 2014 Nissan Qashqai 1.6dci is so sluggish on standing acceleration. Once it picks-up it seems to be ok but generally tired. I suspect a turbo issue. I would appreciate any info related to this

Sounds like turbo boost isn't there - are there any strange sounds like whistling or a deeper sound (sounds like a burp) as this can signify that either the turbo or intercooler is leaking and creates a whistling sound and if its deeper then one of the rubber turbo hoses is split.

I would demonstrate both sounds but luckily I can't record sound on here 😁

Thanks for that Trevor. Needless to say, appart from the classic high pitch turbo sound, I hav'nt really paid much attention to anything else. I'll listen tomorrow and get back to you.

If it is screaming high pitch noise then it is more than likely got a small leak somewhere but in general you will hear a nice constant low whistling tone while the turbo spools up
