  2. The main thing to worry about is oil quality, levels, and period between changes. This all affects the internal engine parts and particularly timing chains. Technically, they should last if treated considerately (e.g. allowing engine to warm up before driving off when cold, avoiding stop/start journeys as best as possible, not driving at high revs initially, etc). Cars have become so reliable and long lasting since I first started driving (early 1980's) and then new cars would only last about 10 years or at least had an engine replacement in that time. Nowadays, cars last beyond 20 years quite happily as long as they are serviced and maintained properly. Mileages in excess of 100k is quite reasonable now but back then it was classes as high miles when it was at 50k or 60k.
  3. I always tend to use Castrol Oil Selector as a true guide on the specific oil to use (SAE, etc) - Grade is no so important unless you live in a very cold or hot country. https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/product-finder.html Mostly, oil and filter are most important service items but overlooked items such as gear oils, fuel, pollen and air filters are equally important and you should find the time to get those replaced individually.

  5. Hi all, I have a bit of a strange issue with my reverse camera and wondered if anyone had experienced the same and managed a fix, Intermittently my reverse camera flickers and goes black, as if maybe a loose connection? Other times works absolutely fine, However the strange part is that every now and then when reverse is selected the camera shows a still image like a snapshot of say a previous reverse? Which is weird because obviously it doesn’t record so how would it show that? Coincidentally also when the camera does go black/flickering the front camera then also shows black. Any help appreciated, also is it easy to get to and inspect the camera if necessary? Thanks

  7. Hi @Esteban .... The Juke is one of the best cars built by Nissan (apart from the GTR) and you should have very few problems with it. Have a great Crimbo as well :-)
  8. I know exactly what you mean - not Nissan related but Harley-Davidson instead. Took a Pan America for a test drive and it was doing exactly what you describe....the revs didn't match the gears which didn't match the road speed. It was so confusing to work out what was going on and I usually approximately know what gear I'm in and the road speed just from the engine revs and a quick glance at the gauges. However, I was rolling along at around 30mph and the revs were up and down (albeit a manual gearbox) and gave no indication of what was actually going on - probably my single most negative, but strange sensation from any motorbike I've ever ridden. CVT transmissions can also replicate this phenomena and have to agree it would more than likely be a case of getting used to it over time, just means you can't judge engine revs by ear but by constantly looking at the instruments to gauge what is actually going on. Good luck !
  9. My 2016 Nissan Leaf is taking longer than usual to charge on my home 7kW wallbox. Has anyone with the same model year run into slow-charging issues, and was it caused by the onboard charger, the wallbox, or a problem with the charging port?
  10. Sorry, just had another look at the symbol and it has the two lines up the side which would suggest that it may be to do with lane guidance. But still worth checking that the rear bumper for sensors (easily identifiable by their circular shape around the size of a 50pence piece. If it is lane guidance then it sounds like the ADAS is playing up and needs resetting.
  11. Hi @Sam Deano64 - Welcome to the club. Any aftermarket dampers such as Koni will improve the handling over the standard equipment. Worth running a search on eBay for reputable brands and relatively easy to fit and you will see an immediate improvement
  12. Hi @Isaac - welcome to the club I would put money on the hybrid system kicking in and out which can cause a slight 'stumble' when it cycles so wouldn't worry about it unless it gets any worse.
  13. I know there are boot organisers on the market that suit most cars but not sure which one would be best to even if they custom make them to suit the vehicle. Worth doing a search on eBay for what is available for the Qashqai
  14. Hi @Bebop Cowboy ...welcome to the Club Had a few X-Trails myself and they are superb to drive - never really tried them off-road though. Good to have you onboard!
  15. I would be measuring the glow plugs (old and then compare to new) at least so you could identify which cylinder(s) is at fault.

New to pathfinders. After doing some light modifications for a bit of off road use and was wondering what stealth winches people are using. Would like to keep the original bumper. Any guides about. Tia
  18. used to see this with black electrical tape. does the job.

    Welcome to the club @Rhino
  21. Hi Trevor, thanks for your suggestion. I'm not all that savvy with this internet thing. I'm with Orange in France. I presume when the Micra is asking for my password they mean the long list of letter and numbers that came with my love of. I have had to use that to get the internet on my tablet and laptop . Is there any other password?
  22. What is the actual issue with the car? Also, is it engine speed or vehicle speed sensor you are looking at?
  23. I know... so nothing. But, Thanks.
  24. I use iCarSoft scanner so not sure about the Topdon but most scan tools are of the same standard and will read and delete fault codes. Beyond that, scanners such as the iCarSoft can also code injectors, reset base values and quite a bit more
  25. The only thing I can think of is when you lock/unlock and hold the button down for a period of time then the windows will lower or raise? Otherwise, not sure what could be causing it to drop the windows
  26. Can you turn of off the electric mirror fold , so is it possible to move them in/out manually ? So I can get the car in / out of the garage
  27. I don't have any faith whatsover with the current clowns in power so I wouldn't do anything hastily such as changing your car as it is always likely to change in the near future
