  1. excellent result! it's good to hear of 'good news' stories as mostly hear ones about how dealers have ripped people off.
  2. Hi Sith It does sound like the wheel nuts are different...that is the first thing I would check and if they are the same then revert to plan B (whatever that is) Have you got a photo of the reverse side of the hub caps you can upload here? Cheers, Trevor
  3. Hi....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  4. Hi Sith....welcome to the Forum Glad you're happy with your Micra Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  5. I would suggest taking the car to an audio specialist shop who could probably fix it there and then or suggest a solution to go forward if not repairable. A dealer would probably only suggest replacement of the whole unit and not enter into further diagnosis.
  6. ouch! sometimes there is radio code software available on ebay...maybe worth having a look on there
  7. Thanks for sharing the link...hopefully others can benefit from it if the situation occurs
  8. thats good to hear but cannot have been a cheap repair in the end?
  9. Hi...welcome to the Forum It could be a fuse that retains the radio memory that has blown Worth checking the handbook to see which fuse(s) affect this circuit and physically check them Let us know what you find Cheers, Trevor
  10. You should be able to get this from your local dealership at no cost If they say about a charge then I would state that the documentation that came with the car was not complete and did not include the radio code (which it should have)
  11. Hi Joe...welcome to the Forum Sorry, not sure of the job time but it's very unfortunate to have failed during the MOT. Sometimes, albeit it looks accessible it can be a nightmare to feed the linkages through and into place, sorry, not entirely sure though as never done one. Cheers, Trevor
  12. Hi....welcome to the Forum Hopefully you may not need to ask questions as this would assume you are having issues with your Nissan much like your Ford. Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  13. Hi...welcome to the Forum I think it is a case of "he who shouts loudest gets heard"...I think if you have proof of servicing then they are at fault and if you kick off enough about it then this may sort it. If not, then it's a case of absorbing the cost and trying to claim the cost back afterwards....but at least you get your car back on the road. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers, Trevor
  14. Hi Chris....welcome to the Forum I would definitely check the earth leads that run from the battery negative terminal to the chassis (below the battery on the inner wing area) as these tend to break off. Only cost me around £10 for three new earth leads from Halfords and replaced the lot...everything then worked fine on my X-Trail. Let us know what you find Cheers, Trevor
  15. Hi....welcome to the Forum The Navara is a great truck and very capable....just check the one you decide to buy very carefully for corrosion, especially on the chassis rails...common fault. Otherwise, great truck. In fact one of our Admin took a Navara all the way to Mongolia with no issues (well apart from the fuel tank falling out). Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  16. I would pop it into a reputable garage for them to check it over then, just in case it leads to something a bit more serious (cam chain, etc)
  17. That's a great result, simple adjustment and at no cost either...win, win!
  18. Hi....welcome to the Forum That sounds like a drivebelt or the tensioner bearing to me. Easiest way is to gently introduce some water to the belt and or tensioner, if the noise goes then its a dry belt or bearing. Let us know if this works
  19. let us know how you get on with it....would be nice to know if it works okay
  20. Yes, please let us know....hopefully its a cheap fix for you
  21. I cannot see any bulbs listed specifically for the glovebox but not to say there isn't one there....may need to use a mirror to look up into the depths of the dashboard to see if there is a light unit there
  22. Hi....welcome to the Forum I'm not sure there is an auxiliary input for the system but you could use something similar to this gadget which will give you connectivity. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Elobeth-Wireless-Bluetooth-Car-Receiver-Stereo-Audio-Adapter-3-5mm-Aux-Input-Jac/122789432388?epid=1476325337&hash=item1c96d20c44:g:0jEAAOSwk-1Z-5m1
  23. Hi.....welcome to the Forum Sounds like it could be a slightly loose belt but also if it is worn then it won't grip too well when under load. Worth tightening or replacing to determine that it is the cause of the chirping. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor
  24. It would be worth checking to see if there is an oil cooler that is cooled by water (similar to Volkswagen) in which case this could be perforated and allowing oil into the coolant. Or it could be residue from before the gasket was replaced and is still sitting in the cooling system
  25. I suppose it's not too bad of an outcome as I'm sure it will probably acquire a few more battle wounds along the way and as given its age then it may be the best solution to leave it like it is and just replace the bonnet to make it look better.
