  1. Totally understand where you're coming from...I'm the same but I draw the line at when it comes to special tools and diagnostic software updates (special tools again!) then got to concede to the specialists for those jobs....or spend a fortune on the tools. Good luck
  2. Hi I would highly recommend taking the vehicle to the dealership for the first few services to keep the service history updated and also to benefit from any recall/updates that may have been released since the vehicle was last in for service. Nowadays, there are a lot of special tools for removal of components and it you cannot see anything obvious on the oil filter housing then quite possibly there is a special tool for this.
  3. Hi You should have some sort of point of entry to the cooling system and as such it should be at the highest point in the engine bay to allow for expansion. On the original car it still would have had one so it should be a case of utilising your original expansion tank and connect it up to the new engine
  4. I would replace the belt if it has approached that mileage and time period as a matter of course and not take the chance
  5. The rear seats should fold down and allow you to access the tailgate from inside. From there you could remove the inner lining and access the latch mechanism
  6. Hi Chris....welcome to the Forum It sounds like a classic case of faulty glow plug(s), I would have them checked for resistance and replace the faulty one(s)...shouldn't be too expensive Cheers Trevor
  7. Hi Andy I'm personally not sure about the configuration but probably best to find one at a used car sales yard to have a play with and see how it all works Cheers Trevor
  8. I would recommend taking it to an auto electrician as it could be many things causing it...
  9. Hi James...welcome to the Forum I would not advise driving a car with any red warning lamp, although amber is generally okay. However, it appears to be a fault in the ABS / Stability system which shouldn't affect the performance of the car. If it affected the braking then I would be concerned and if it affected the performance (e.g. going into Limp Home mode) then again it is a dangerous concern. Let us know what they find Cheers Trevor
  10. Hi Steve Found this link which may give you an explanation https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A9mSs3dAbq1Yn2kAx3VLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTEydmVva3VqBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMzBHZ0aWQDQjM0NThfMQRzZWMDc3I-?qid=20071021085831AAT0uzk&p=nissan micra blue thermo light
  11. Hi IanC...welcome to the Forum I wouldn't know where to start to find one for you...I could only advise trying to find someone who has a range of cables to compare yours with....it would only have to be the same size ends to work, doesn't matter about the length Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

  13. Hi Steve...welcome to the Forum The Micra C+C is a great little car and especially with the nice summer we're supposed to be having :-) Cheers Trevor
  14. Hi and welcome to the Forum The Tekna is a good car but thoroughly check out whether it has full dealer service history to ensure all recalls and updates have been carried out. A lot of Nissans tend to suffer from electrical gremlins so worth checking all the controls and switches work okay. Cheers Trevor
  15. Hi George...welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure if the sills will fit but more than likely some of it could be used to repair the corroded sections. Best to scour the internet for suppliers of older Nissan parts. Good luck Trevor
  16. Hi...welcome to the Forum Strange one with the glow plugs, unless they're not designed to operate under -5 degrees (I doubt it though)...just hope it doesn't drop that low again for a while. Let us know if you find out anything else about it Cheers Trevor
  17. Sorry, we cannot help you with your enquiry as we do not hold any official registrations records. would suggest writing an email to Nissan UK
  18. Hi Ivan...welcome to the Forum I think your theory about the MAF sensor is about right..you should just be able to replace the sensor itself as opposed to the housing it is within...slightly cheaper sometimes! Definitely check fault codes first to see if there is mention of the MAF sensor. Cheers Trevor
  19. Thanks for the info Rab and the lighting certainly is better...great result all round :-)
  20. It's always good to strip and rebuild every so often...keeps things fresh :-)
  21. Hi Rab...welcome to the Forum Sorry, just had a look for replacement holders but cannot find any....dealer only I would imagine, shouldn't be more than £10 I wouldn't have thought. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  22. Great news! Thanks for sharing the correct method with us :-)
  23. Hi Susan....welcome to the Forum It sounds very much like a Crankshaft Position Sensor or a similar engine rotation sensor which can fail when hot, once cool then the engine starts and runs fine. Alternatively, a broken wire or corroded electrical connection somewhere in the fuel or ignition system. Sorry, can't be more specific but it sounds like a generic intermittent fault. Keep us updated on how this gets sorted. Cheers Trevor
