  1. Hi everyone, new here. I've been searching all over the Internet to no avail for an answer and I hope I may find something here. I've got a set of led side indicators and led tailights on my 160SR with halogen bulbs in the front still. I want to upgrade those front bulbs to LED aswell, when I put the led front bulbs in they all flash like a standard vehicle would should a bulb blow. I know I need a higher resistance relay for the circuit but I can't find said relay. Anyone able to offer me any advice as to where it may be? I'm fairly mechanically minded so I don't mind if I need to pull several things apart to get to it. Cheers all! PFA of my 160SR "Soria"
  2. Hi all, I've been having some throttle response problems (flat spot), juddering issues at certain revs and poorer fuel economy on my Micra K12 2003 1.2 petrol. I tried to find a guide online that would help me remove and clean the throttle body but I couldn't find anywhere that could show me the location of the throttle body or even how to remove it. So I decided to find the throttle body myself and undertake the removal and cleaning in the hope of creating a guide for other people who would like to know how to do it. I took some nice photos as I progressed which I could use in a guide. I have put together a little guide which you can find detailed below and also a copy on my website which should help anyone wanting to remove and clean the throttle body on their 1.2 petrol K12. The guide is detailed below in this topic. Alternatively you can also access the guide at: http://www.limecove.co.uk/nissanmicrak12/nissan-micra-k12-throttle-body-removal-clean.html Hopefully it'll be useful. Thanks, Chris
  3. Hi everyone, I'm new here and wanted to get some advice as have had great help from previous forums. I'm sure its been asked before but I was unable to find much information here or anywhere and was hoping for some advice before I tried to sort the issues I'm having. I have a 2004 K12 Nissan Micra less than 80,000 miles, lovely little car if a little basic. I've had a few issues, rear wipers and centre light not working, the wires were chewed up but I managed to solder and sleeve them. Window wiper linkage had become loose on the front so replaced with a new linkage. I also recently changed the battery as it sat for alot of the winter and would try to start without success. I know very little about cars but I like to give my own repairs a go. My latest issue however is an issue starting the car. Most of the time you wouldn't know there is an issue at all. Pop the key in, turn it 2 clicks and wait for the immobiliser light to go out and then turn the key to start. I've been teaching my sister to drive however and on a few occasions, seems after its run a little while, the car won't start. This happened once at a junction, she stalled and the car wouldnt start, needless to say it was pretty dangerous. The second was in a car park. We had turned the car off and were talking through what we had done in the lession before driving her home. When we turned the key, nothing. All the lights come on as normal as well as the fan and stereo, the immobiliser light goes out but when you turn the key there is nothing at all, no attempt to turn over or clicking so I'm pretty sure it's not battery or starter motor related. Someone told me that it's normally one of 2 things, either the ignition and starter relays are failing or it could be the board that is housed in the main fuse box. Is this the case? Is there anything I can do to test this? I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and get back to me. I'd like to get the issue sorted if I can. Regards Damian
  4. Alright troops. The short version is I don't know how to adjust my handbrake and I need your help. The longer version is: A few months ago I replaced the rear wheel bearings and noticed the rear shoes needed replacing to. So I did. The weird twisty arm thingy at the top of the drum (that connects the shoes) still haunts my nightmares, but I got the damn things installed. Failed an MOT today on an ineffective handbrake. How do I adjust the handbrake back into working, without losing my mind again? Thanks, Sith
  5. Awrite troops... I've been thinking about possible engine swaps for my K12, trying to find out what's possible and what's realistic. At the moment I have a CR12DE putting out a heady 80bhp. It works fine and never gives me any trouble, but it feels like I'm flogging it to death when I drive it briskly. I know the CR16DE is an option but if I was going to the trouble of a swap I may as well make it worthwhile. I also know that the K9K is shared between the Micra and the Clio, so I started wondering if there was enough similarity between platforms for a 172 2.0 Clio engine transplant. Internet searches have turned up plenty of other people who have asked the same question, but no definitive answer. Any knowledge or advise would be gratefully received! Thanks, Sith
  6. Hey hey, I have a k12 Micra and swapped to 15" X 6.5" Clio wheels (they fill out the arches better, there's more tyre sizes available, and they look grand). I want to finish them off with the 7" center hubcaps from K11 Micra steel wheels. From what I can see, they just push onto the wheel bolts (and since the K11 and K12 have the same PCD it shouldn't be a problem), but after trying them on they don't seem to 'click' into place. They're loose and come off reallyreally easy. Should I use K11 wheel bolts? Or is there a special kind of fitment bracket on K11 wheels that holds the hubcaps in place? Thanks for your time, Sith
