Hi all,

I own a Nissan Micra 2004 which is exactly the same to the photo I have attached (taken from Google as an example) and the problem I'm having is with the key, of which I have also a attached a picture of which I have a few problems:- 

1. When I try locking the car after I've finished the car will not lock. I will have to close the door, open the boot and close it before it will lock? 

2. Sometimes when I open the car with the key, I do not have to put it in the ignition, I just put my keys in the middle tray and turn the lock on the right, however sometimes when I try to do so, on the dashboard it will flash in RED "Key" and then I have to press lock and unlock before then turning the lock before it flashes in green "key" and works fine? This is not always but is very common.

3. When I am driving without the key in the ignition it will randomly pop up sometimes on the dashboard, flashing RED "key"... Is this a problem? Usually it comes on for 10 minutes or so and then goes off?

maybe worth taking it apart completely and looking to see if there is any water ingress or if the microswitches have fallen off (quite common)
