  2. That sounds like one of the wheel sensors has gone faulty - a scan of the fault codes in the ABS system will more than likely show a code for a wheel sensor
  3. My navara has has 2 amber warning lights come on when driving, crash detecion and traction control. Just wondering if any of yous know what this could be Many thanks

  5. I am guessing it is part of the process for charging the battery but I would double check it with the dealer or Google search the symptoms and see what you can find
  6. I would say the first place to start is the battery and terminals (ensure they are clean and tight) from there i would check the battery condition to ensure it is fully charged. If its not charged then check the alternator drivebelt and see if the red Ignition lamp comes on goes off when the engine is turning

  8. Fuel efficiency (of whatever source - petrol, diesel, electric, hydrogen, etc) is quite popular on many forums at the moment. Mainly because of the fact that people bought a vehicle based on the manufacturer's advertised efficiency which has been way short of what is actually achieving in the real world. Have a check on forums such as ToyotaOwnersClub.com and there is a huge discussion which debates the best methods of driving with electric or hybrid vehicles. Good luck and Merry Christmas to you also!
  9. I’ve had my Nissan Qashqai e-Power for a few months now and I’m a bit disappointed with the fuel economy. I’m mainly doing town driving and expected better mpg based on what I read before buying. I know driving style matters but it still seems lower than it should be. Is this normal for the Nissan Qashqai e-Power or am I missing something in how it should be driven to get the best efficiency? Merry Christmas!

  16. Hello, I have a petrol 2015 (65) 1.2 DIG-T N-TEC Xtronic I’m having electrical issues. These have started over the past month. The car is used daily. Multiple times regular Back lighting of center console is off. So the main media display still works normally and is visible. But all other lighting is off including the air conditioning digital display is off and all orange lighting off behind all button controls including the auto box gearstick back lighting is off. All functionality of all buttons still works normally but lighting doesn’t. Sometimes the lights work sometimes they don’t. Sometimes when I turn ignition on they work then when I start car they turn off. Multiple times regular Sporadic engine warning light (yellow) - P0594 cruise control servo control circuit / open. This stays on for a day or so then turns off then reappears a few days later. Both of cruise control and speed limiter systems work fine as normal when this light is on. One time Power steering light (yellow) - I believe my model has electric power steering. This stayed on for a day or so then turned off I have checked the voltage over battery when switched off (12.58v) and alternator reading (14.28v) when engine on. Halfords did battery health check and confirmed battery fine at 94% health. The car mechanically runs fine. Can anyone help with what to look into next prior to me having to admit defeat and take car to auto electrician

  18. nissan micra 2014 the ignition lights up when i turn the key but when I turn to start it won't start. Also, as soon as I turn it on the radiator fan comes up although the engine is cold. The battery is ok. I drove the car all day, today, and after parked for a couple of hours this happened.

  20. When I’m stopped at traffic lights in my Nissan Qashqai e-Power, the petrol engine sometimes revs up even though I’m not moving. It sounds strange if you’re not used to it. I understand the engine charges the battery, but it feels random at times. Is this normal behaviour for the Nissan Qashqai e-Power system or something that should be checked out? Don't fancy a trip to the dreaded dealer!
  21. I assume its a manual transmission or automatic? A cold engine can produce these symptoms and wonder if it does it when starting the engine when hot?
  22. The CVT does sound strange when driving compared to a manual transmission. But if you can find another just to test drive and make a comparison to satisfy yourself as to whether it is normal or not.
  23. I test drove a Nissan Juke automatic recently and the gearbox felt very different to what I’m used to. The revs stayed high and it felt like it wasn’t changing gears normally. I know it’s a CVT but I don’t know what’s considered normal behaviour on the Nissan Juke. There was also a slight whining noise. Is this just how they are or signs of a gearbox issue starting to show?
  24. I’ve recently bought a Nissan Juke 1.6 petrol from 2012 and I’ve noticed when pulling away from junctions it sometimes feels hesitant, like it doesn’t want to go for a second. Once it’s moving it drives fine, but that initial lag worries me a bit. No warning lights showing and the car idles ok. I’m not sure if this is just how the Nissan Juke drives or if it could be something like throttle body, sensors or even gearbox related. Anyone else had similar issues?
  25. I would say it is the anti-roll bar drop links that are failing - replaced some a little while ago and they put up a fight so be prepared to spend quite a bit of time grinding them off. Also, check the coil springs are not snapped and that the dampers are not leaking
  26. My Nissan Juke makes a rattling or knocking noise from the front when driving over small bumps or uneven roads. It’s more noticeable at lower speeds around town. Steering feels ok but it’s annoying and getting worse. I’ve heard things like drop links or top mounts can cause this on the Nissan Juke. Is this a common problem and is it expensive to fix if I take it to a garage?
  27. I will contact the dealer and see what they say on any updates. Thanks for your help.
  28. I'm wondering if it could be a little bit of both? It would be natural to have a linear acceleration with e-power but also if a software upgrade was available then there may be an update on drivability which may smooth out the drive
  29. The main thing to worry about is oil quality, levels, and period between changes. This all affects the internal engine parts and particularly timing chains. Technically, they should last if treated considerately (e.g. allowing engine to warm up before driving off when cold, avoiding stop/start journeys as best as possible, not driving at high revs initially, etc). Cars have become so reliable and long lasting since I first started driving (early 1980's) and then new cars would only last about 10 years or at least had an engine replacement in that time. Nowadays, cars last beyond 20 years quite happily as long as they are serviced and maintained properly. Mileages in excess of 100k is quite reasonable now but back then it was classes as high miles when it was at 50k or 60k.
  30. At low speeds in traffic my Nissan Qashqai e-Power can feel a bit jerky, especially when creeping forward. It’s smooth once going faster but slow driving isn’t very relaxing. I’m wondering if this is just how the electric drive is set up on the Nissan Qashqai e-Power or if there’s a software update or setting that improves it. Cheers!
  31. I own a Nissan Juke 1.2 DIG-T from 2014 and lately I’ve noticed a brief rattling sound on cold start. It only lasts a second or two but it’s got me worried after reading stuff online about timing chain issues. I thought chains were meant to last forever but people say otherwise. Has anyone had timing chain problems on the Nissan Juke and is this noise something I should be concerned about? Hope someone can help. thanks!

  33. I always tend to use Castrol Oil Selector as a true guide on the specific oil to use (SAE, etc) - Grade is no so important unless you live in a very cold or hot country. https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/product-finder.html Mostly, oil and filter are most important service items but overlooked items such as gear oils, fuel, pollen and air filters are equally important and you should find the time to get those replaced individually.
  34. I’m planning to service my Nissan Juke 1.5 dCi myself for the first time and I’m getting totally confused about oil types. Some places say 5W30, others say different specs and it’s not very clear. I don’t want to damage the engine by using the wrong oil. Also wondering if there’s anything else specific to the Nissan Juke I should change at the same time like fuel filter or any known service items people forget about.

  36. Hi all, I have a bit of a strange issue with my reverse camera and wondered if anyone had experienced the same and managed a fix, Intermittently my reverse camera flickers and goes black, as if maybe a loose connection? Other times works absolutely fine, However the strange part is that every now and then when reverse is selected the camera shows a still image like a snapshot of say a previous reverse? Which is weird because obviously it doesn’t record so how would it show that? Coincidentally also when the camera does go black/flickering the front camera then also shows black. Any help appreciated, also is it easy to get to and inspect the camera if necessary? Thanks
