  1. Hello, I am joining this forum with hopes to be able to supply you guys with some hard to come by parts for your beloved Nissans, as the title states we are the second oldest Nissan dealer in the uk and we are looking to move some of our older parts that have been stored away for years. I will be doing a follow up post with our parts list which should have thousands of items for you guys to sift through at your leisure, I just wanted to test the waters to see how helpful this would be for you guys, any responses or comments appreciated. Kind regards, Oscar

  6. Hi Hoping someone can help with problem I am having with my QX. Car starts but tickover not smooth. As soon as you touch accelerator pedal it dies. Eventually after numerous attempts it will rev up but will not rev past 2000rpm. just pops and bangs which obviously is not good. If you engage drive (4 speed auto with overdrive) it stalls. Need to hold revs at around 1300 -1400rpm to get it to pullaway but of course it does so with a jerk. Once on the go gearbox changes are often hesitent along with its reluctance to rev. Have serviced the car along with new plugs. Even changed transmission oil. No Engine management warning lights on dash. No warning lights of any kind. Car has covered just under 130,000 miles and never had any problems like this before. Has always started 1st time and run smooth as clockwork. Any ideas/suggestions as to cause and cure would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks Mike

  7. Hi - Sorry for the delay in update but problem now cured. Took a while but finally back on the road. Had to take it to a main Nissan dealer 20 miles away in the end so as to connect it to their diagnostics system due to other garages near me not having older diagnostic computer kits compatible with my car. Not cheap. £120 later and they said that the Mass Airlow Unit and Knock sensor needed replacing. Their quote was £1671. Staggering. Said parts were the costly items. They said Airflow Unit was £565 plus VAT. No way! Anyway spoke to Paul at local garage and he said that in all his working life (over 20 years) he had only ever replaced one knock sensor in all that time so should ignore that. A search on ebay resulted in me purchasing Airflow Unit for just under £36. Yes only £36. Could have had it shipped from Australia for around £75 all in. Anyway booked car in with Paul who fitted it along with a couple of rubber gaitors for the steering rack. Total cost for his work was £60. Result - success. Car now runs just as it did before problem occurred so very 'happy bunny'.

  8. Hi, same issue I had. Battery is fully charged. All the lights were on but not starting. I found this in another forum I followed the advice and I worked. Hope it’ll help 🙂 Thanks Jackyboy117’s advise : ‘I turned the ignition switch to the second point just before you start the engine, I then got out the car and disconnected the negative lead and replaced straight away. Now the car started to try and start but would only make the noise. I then had to shut all doors and bonnets, turn the engine off, lock the car with the key, open the car with the key, half turn the ignition and leave for 5 mins. Once the 5 mins is up turn off the car and straight away start.’

  9. Hi - just bought my first Nissan ... a 2008 1.6 ltr Micra K12 cc Sport convertible in silver. 3 previous owners and 116k on the clock... it was a cat n insurance write off due to light damage to boot lid and rear bumper! It runs excellently, even the intelligent key works (well most of the time - lol!) ... and the roof works perfectly, so looking forward to the summer months! A few pics the 'Micra Machine' attached. Cheers Steve!

  10. Hi Trevor ... thanks for your kind remarks! Yes, a month of ownership and no real disasters (yet 🤣) .... the keyless entry works 100% of the time but the keyless start is a bit erratic, often resulting in the emergency key being used .... I've replaced the batteries in the fobs and used WD 40 in the barrel .. but problem still exists ... any clues? .... also the replaced the front sidelight bulbs with LED bulbs and the nearside blows almost instantly ... mystery indeed! Cheers Steve

  15. It could be battery condition if it is that old so worth starting with a test and replace if necessary Also worth checking all earth leads from the battery onto the engine and transmission back to the chassis. If any of these are corroded or broken that could cause the problem

  16. Hi all, my first post. My juke 1.6 has a faulty fuel pressure regulator. Have been on the hunt for a replacement pump but prices are absolutely crazy for genuine and I'm struggling to find a none genuine that matches the part number. My part number is 1663000q0b. Are any of these pumps cross operable between models. I'm guessing looking at them they will physically fit but I'm presuming there is a difference in pressure etc? Thanks Tim

  18. Thanks Trevor for your reply. I have replaced the Earth connections and looked for leaks, but will double check any way. The idle issue is the same even with the pedal position pot disconnected, so I concluded that was not the issue, but will measure the voltage as you suggest.

  21. Hi. We have a Nissan Serena Highway Star. Registered here 2009. We got hit while parked outside by unknown driver. Our right side wing mirror was damaged and a scrape down the side. Insurance company couldn't find any repair station that could replace the mirror and nor can we. They paid us a minimal sum to repair it ourselves. Any suggestions or anyone local in Essex breaking one? Sue and Rob.

  22. Hi Im in the Southend on sea area and sadly selling my Nissan Serena cvt. 2004. 174,854 miles, 1990cc automatic 7 seat mini van. This van is well used, scrapes on bumpers tatty wheel covers some paint missing from the side mirrors. Interior is stil in a reasonable condition. Main issues that need attention is the right hand lower suspension arm needs replacing and the automatic side door motor also needs replacing ( wasn’t working when I bought it) tires are brand new and has mot till October. Condition apart from suspension arm is how I purchased it. Engine runs lovely still. Selling as no longer need a big car. £1200 ono

  23. Just come across a video suggesting that the neutral position switch on the gearbox may also have gone. Diagnosis is to turn on the Engine heater switch then engage a gear. Revs should return to normal idle if the switch is operating. My car does not return to idle. Stays revved up and I canove forward without there being any change Could this contribute to the error lights I'm facing?

  24. Hi again, i have found the culprit! before replacing the fuel filter i gave the hoses another check over, turns out the boost pressure hose has a big split in it around 2 inch in length! I have a new one on order. For now, i taped around the hose to “bodge” it and straight away the difference in pulling power was night and day!.. a big puff of black smoke and off she went! A fresh MOT and the family wagon is back on the road. 👏

  25. That definitely sounds like a poor earth somewhere in the engine bay area.....check the earth lead from the battery and any that may be attached to the engine and body Also on the offchance, it may be something simple like a bulb.....check the rear indicator and tail lamp bulbs are the correct type as sometimes if incorrect they can backfeed current through the electrical system and create faults like you describe

  26. Definitely do a fuel filter change and see how it goes then.....keep us updated

  28. Hi Trevor, thanks for the info. I'm going to be replacing the transfer box sensors shortly so I'll take a look whilst I'm under there. Im not 100% sure what I'm doing but trying hard to get the car operational asap. I've tried everything I can think of so far and still no dice. I appreciate the thinking and will let you know how I get on

  29. You can pop to Halfords and get some universal coolant (pre-mixed to the correct quantity) and top up the tank However, there should be a min-max markings on the tank and should be topped to just below max when the engine is cold

  30. Hi, Sadly the vehicle is not on warranty. The engine had gotten a fully rebuild and clearly this code is from a sensor picking up trapped air in the coolant system as it was full and bleed out but after a day or 2 of driving i noticed the coolant bottle was at min and would you believe the fault code light went out.. Happy out till the next fault...😆

  31. Hello. Very pleased goes extremely well far better than the previous Peugeot 5008 I got rid of. I changed my previous Qashqai 1.6 petrol with CVT box 13 reg about 3 years ago mainly due to the badly corroded rear subframe, managed a pass but received an advisory instead. Car came from South Cornwall ( St Agnes )exposed to the salty atmosphere from new. This is probably the best secondhand car I’ve bought, must be at least 50 over the last 60 years. The only thing I miss is not having an automatic handbrake which came on when you turned off the engine unlike the Peugeot.

  32. I swapped the cluster this weekend. Also took the opportunity to replace the crappy OEM-radio with a Bluetooth one. Used a 1-din dashkit for that, looks quite alright actually. Nothing needs to be done to enable the replacement cluster. It’s plug and play. The mileage is stored in the cluster, so make sure you install one with slightly higher mileage than what you have as to not get into any odometer issues during the next MOT. I swapped my faulty 179k cluster with disabled check engine light for a unmolested one with 185k on it. Paid 40 bucks for it at a local junk yard. Those extra 6k in mileage won’t hurt the (non-existent) resale value anyway.

  33. I wonder if the read out is faulty and the actual fuel is not dropping in the tank as it would seem The best way is to fill to the brim, run the car for a while once the mileage is reset and then refill and calculate the mileage travelled and how many litres Do a calculation and see what the actual miles per gallon work out at

  36. Nissan note 2008 1.6 Petrol Having listened to my drive belt squealing like a strangled cat thought it best I changed it, car has done 140,000 on what I think was the original belt. First as it’s a 1.6 petrol it only has one belt, cheapest place was Halfords at £17. Next watched videos on how to change it, easy I thought, so set to work. Jacked up and on axle stand removed drivers side wheel then attacked the inner wing lining, lots of popper fittings and screws, lot of poppers broke on removal, made sure I had spares. Now I can see the drive belt, well cracked and shiny, slacked tensioner pulley bolt (13 mm) and removed the belt, easy. Checked out belt against new, all ok but could I get the new belt on, no way. Tried the tensioner pulley adjuster, this was a nightmare to get at as you cannot see it all touchy feelly, anyway the adjuster was rusted and not for moving, only option left was to remove the pulley. Cleaned it up and freed up adjuster, next challenge was to re fit the adjuster, which you have to do blind and you can only use one hand, after a lot of cursing I still couldn’t get the thing into position. Looked how to gain better access, remove the front grill and then get another pair of hands to hold the adjuster in place while I re fitted the pulley, easy. Put the new drive belt on and now with relatively easy access to the adjuster tensioned the belt. No more squealing, job took in total about three hours around two hours longer than needed. So before I do my wife’s car going to ensure the tensioner bolt is lubricated, was the main cause of the delay. Will also just remove the front grill and see if it can be changed without having to remove inner wheel arch liner. Hope my experience saves people time and effort.

  37. I managed to contact a electrical specialist for this Thursday so will update on the outcome. I even looked into 'All Data' but they want yearly subscription fee which i certainly won't utilise all the time. It would be good to see get some feedback from any of the forum members that have this subscription and does it cover the Infiniti diesel Euro models ? Not everyones style but this is it.

  38. hi I a;ready bought 2 adapters - for radio and for TV but where to install them? no idea where tv and radio amplifier are ..8-) atm has changed some things.. on the bonnet is the "proper" emblem - not lying but standing- and I should finish - maybe today adding a SECOND sound system with modern radio and another set of speakers. Because inside is a very complicated Bosse system and no1 in Bristol wanted to work with my Nissan I decided to put inside the second system..So I will have all the modern tools like Bloototh, wi-fi and of course Uk radio with normal frequency. I will post some pictures when I finish it completely and here are the pictures

  39. Hi thanks for your reply I really thought I'd cracked it I realised that the interior light wasn't coming on when the rear passenger door was open nor did it show up as open on the dashboard so I unscrewed the switch and found the wire was broken down at the bottom near the seat anywayni joined the wire back up the interior light works as it should now and it also shows up as open on the dashboard but the lights are still flashing

  43. Thanks for the warm welcome Trevor. it was indeed as you described, a clip down by the gear selector arm in the engine bay. i found a clip down there obstructing the movement (it fell off the air filter box). i then moved the gear linkage arm around a bit and made sure everything was connected and moving in the right way and it seemed to fix it. silly really, but sometimes, that's just how it goes hahah

  44. I would be worried if you didn't hear it in the future 🙂 As long as it still starts and doesn't slow down which could suggest it is starting to bind on the shaft then it should be fine Alternatively, a new starter isn't that much and easy to fit https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=131090&_nkw=2015+k13+micra+starter+motor&selvel=Cars+Year%3A2015%2CCar+Make%3ANissan%2CModel%3AMicra%2CVariant%3APetrol%20Hatch%2CCars+Type%3A1.2%2CBodyStyle%3AFWD%20IV%20K13K%2CMK13K_%2CPlat_Gen%3AMK%20IV%2CEngine%3A1198cc%2056KW%2076HP%20HR12DE&selcontext=productType%3ACAR_AND_TRUCK%2CpartType%3APARTS%2CqueryType%3ABY_VEHICLE&_sop=15&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=3

  45. Hi everyone, new here. I've been searching all over the Internet to no avail for an answer and I hope I may find something here. I've got a set of led side indicators and led tailights on my 160SR with halogen bulbs in the front still. I want to upgrade those front bulbs to LED aswell, when I put the led front bulbs in they all flash like a standard vehicle would should a bulb blow. I know I need a higher resistance relay for the circuit but I can't find said relay. Anyone able to offer me any advice as to where it may be? I'm fairly mechanically minded so I don't mind if I need to pull several things apart to get to it. Cheers all! PFA of my 160SR "Soria"
