Qashqai J12 - Rear offside door Dumps water...!

Hi,

Had our Qashqai J12 since September 22 and have noticed that, after rain, the rear offside door dumps retained water on to the ground(and your feet!) when opened...I would expect a few drips etc. but the door is clearly holding the rain until opened. It has been returned to the dealer twice now, with them admitting it isn't right. On this occasion they had the vehicle for two weeks, after which they decided to change the rear door seal ( a bit obvious, I would have thought, but it took 2 weeks!)..

Upon return, we tested it and also waited for rain and tested it again...same result...I've attached a video(cropped to enable it to upload) which shows the problem...

The car then went back in again and this time was held for three weeks, only to be told that Nissan Technical have now decided that...wait for it...it's a 'Vehicle Characteristic' and they will be taking no further action.

A complaint has been raised to both Nissan themselves and the finance company but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this 'characteristic' or has had this result with any other problem they may have had..

Would appreciate any feedback or advice..?....thanks

oh my goodness that is drastic - huge amount of water to dump out from inside the vehicle area
I would definitely pursue this as it won't do the car any good over time

Update - It's now become apparent that Nissan Customer Services blocks your phone number if they choose to...!...Any time my wife used her mobile to contact them for progress on the issue, it immediately cut off, however I tried using mine and I went straight through...tried her mobile again and same result. She then tried on our landline and straight through... BAD BUSINESS, NIssan.....so if find yourself being cut off when phoning, they've obviously had enough of you or, as in our case, don't have a solution.

However, after a lot of boring stuff i.e. time, effort, persistence on our behalf etc., they now claim that Nissan have stated that 'they are working on a new design of seal' for the rear doors....whether this is the truth or another delaying tactic, we shall see...!...

Update - Turns out it was another delaying tactic as we have now received another email from Customer Services stating that a 'technician' has now decided that there is no fault and the issue won't be pursued!.

Nissan are beyond a joke, consistently lying and avoiding any problems...I can't believe a company can treat customers in this way...oh well, Ombudsman here we come..!

Hi I have a qashqai e-power 1 year old and I told the engineer that the near side rear door was holding water 💧. He said that the drain holes 🕳️ were blocked and he had cleared them???? I’m not confident
